Rounded corners created in cs3/modified...

I am getting files created in cs3 with modified rounded corners, that is a rectangle was drawn and then select rounded corners was added and then bottom two corners was modified to right angle corners. The problem is when I use cs4 to open this file the box converts to a rectangle. Is this a bug? Any help would be fantastic!

This is a known issue with shapes that were modified in CS3 where a point was added and dragged back to the corner to remove the rounding. There is a certain amount of controversy over whether this was a bug or a feature when it worked as it did in CS3, but it seems to have come down on the side of bug for CS4 and was changed.

Best bet might be the corner options script, or using the pathfinder to intersect two shapes.

Thanks for the work around the only other problem is that I do not get any warning if it has changed unless I have a print out of what it is suppose to look like. I don't know if it was orig. a rectangle or a rounded corner. I guess I have to check every rectangle to see it it has changed.

If you select this kind of modified rectangle and under Object %26gt; Paths %26gt; Close Path, it will make the trip to CS4.

I haven't seen this advice before. Can you elaborate a bit? Do you have to do that in CS3, or can you do it after the fact in CS4?

The workaround came from Jeffery ,but to answer you have to close path in cs3.

As Kimba mentioned, you select close paths in CS3. I should also mention that once in CS4 you have all modification to shape available except the dynamic corner radius.
