Serial Number Doesn't Work!

Just bought a fresh boxed version of CS4 Web Standard Student Edition.

No problems with installing as a trial but... When I got the serial number from Adobe, it didn't work.

I've typed and retyped it countless times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and no joy.

I'm in Australia (if that makes any difference) and I'm using Windows XP.

This is highly frustrating. Are there any solutions? I've sent a request to Adobe Support but have not yet had a reply.

Please help... anyone!

3 HOURS ON HOLD TO ADOBE!!!!!

It turns out that ''customer Support''(! and they

have no clue about this error!

Now they want to put me back in the system to hold for someone else!

Is this really happenning? Is Adobe really as bad as this?

What happenned to Macromedia???!!!

ok.... up to 4 HOURS 30 minutes on the phone and still no solution!!!

Anybody else out there had to download the Microsoft Install Clean-up and then the Adobe install clean-up files?

Anybody else done that, followed KB406241 to the letter and still have no joy in the process?!!

What are they going to suggest next... a full Drive Re:Format, reinstall everything and then still not have a solution?!

The only other software install problem I've ever had was Adobe Premiere CS4... seems to be a common denominator here!!
